1. Are they accredited and registered?

Accreditation and registration mean your therapist meets national standards for training and ethical practice. Look for professionals registered with the HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council) or accredited by bodies such as the BABCP. This ensures accountability, high standards of training, and care.

2. What are their qualifications?

Clinical Psychologists are a particularly strong choice. They are NHS-trained to doctoral level and skilled in delivering evidence-based therapies recommended by the National Institute of Health and Care Excellence (NICE). The training also covers assessment, formulation, and advanced therapeutic processes.
