Dr Ashleigh Powell is a highly experienced Clinical Psychologist and BABCP-accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, registered with the HCPC. Alongside her role of co-founder and co-CEO at Regal Private Therapy Practice based in Marylebone, in London’s Harley Street medical district, Ashleigh provides expert, evidence-based psychological therapy to adults, adolescents and children, specialising in anxiety disorders, phobias, OCD, depression, low self-esteem, trauma and burnout. Her work is grounded in the highest standards of clinical training and delivered with warmth, precision, and clinical integrity.
Ashleigh completed her doctoral and postgraduate clinical training at Royal Holloway, University of London, and King’s College London, institutions internationally recognised for excellence in psychological science and clinical practice. She is a specialist in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and third-wave approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT). Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all model, Ashleigh works in an integrative, formulation-led way, tailoring therapy carefully to each client’s needs, goals, and context and adapts her approach carefully for clients with ADHD and autism.
With over a decade of experience across NHS specialist services and private practice, Ashleigh brings a depth of clinical understanding across the lifespan. Prior to co-founding Regal Private Therapy Practice, she held a senior role within an NHS Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS), where she managed and clinically supervised a team of Child Wellbeing Practitioners. Her broader clinical background includes adult talking therapies, school-based mental health services, specialist perinatal teams, and inpatient eating disorder hospitals, giving her a comprehensive and nuanced perspective on psychological care.
Ashleigh has a particular interest in working with adolescents and young adults, as well as high-performing professionals navigating pressure, perfectionism, emotional burnout. Clients often describe her therapeutic style as warm, grounded, and highly collaborative, combining emotional safety and compassion with clear structure and evidence-based strategies that support meaningful and sustainable change.
Alongside her clinical work, Ashleigh regularly contributes as an expert psychologist in the media, with features in The Sun, Newsweek, and speaking appearances on respected mental health platforms. She is also actively involved in shaping the future of the profession, sitting on the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology interview panel where she helps select the next generation of Trainee Clinical Psychologists.
With a background as an elite athlete at Loughborough University, Ashleigh also brings specialist insight into the psychological demands of high-level performance or those in the public eye for sports. She supports clients in addressing issues such as performance anxiety, identity transitions during retirement from elite sport, injury, and the emotional pressures associated with competitive and professional environments.
Regal Private Therapy Practice is known for combining clinical excellence with a premium care pathway, supporting neurodivergent individuals, high net worth clients, international families, and professionals seeking discreet, reliable psychological care. At Regal, Ashleigh plays a key role in leading on the service’s child and adolescent pathway. For clients seeking expert, discreet, and compassionate psychological support, she offers a level of care that is both clinically rigorous and deeply human.
Ashleigh’s work reflects a clear philosophy: effective therapy is built on evidence, expertise, and a genuine understanding of the individual, enabling clients to move forward with clarity, confidence, and lasting resilience.
