About Dr Tanzarella
Dr Margherita Tanzarella is a Consultant Psychiatrist with more than two decades of dedicated NHS service, specialising in Autism Spectrum Disorder and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder across the lifespan. A GMC-registered clinician with full specialist accreditation and revalidation in 2025, she brings a rare combination of clinical precision, intellectual depth, and compassionate understanding to her work with neurodivergent individuals.
Her expertise is grounded in more than twenty years of continuous NHS experience, including senior leadership roles designing and expanding adult autism pathways across multiple London boroughs, contributing to innovative ADHD service models, and shaping national guidance on neurodevelopmental and intellectual disability psychiatry. Her clinical background extends to work with children and adolescents presenting with developmental disorders, emotional dysregulation, and complex behavioural profiles, informed by training at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust and formal qualifications in psychodynamic psychotherapy, CBT, and Cognitive Analytic Therapy.
Her academic contributions include peer-reviewed publications and national faculty reports on intellectual disability and neurodevelopmental psychiatry, and her teaching and mentorship of medical students and psychiatry trainees was recognised through a "Local Teaching Hero" nomination at Imperial College. Her clinical excellence has been acknowledged through a Highly Commended PrescQiPP Award in 2021 and finalist selection for the National Autism Award in 2022.
At Regal Private Therapy Practice, Dr Tanzarella draws on this depth of neurodevelopmental and organisational psychiatric expertise to offer specialist workplace and occupational consultancy. Her services are designed to help individuals and organisations understand and act on neurodevelopmental and wellbeing needs in the workplace, informed by her clinical background but delivered as advisory, educational, and consultative support.
Services
-
We offer bespoke training for managers, HR teams, and leadership groups on building genuinely neurodiversity-friendly workplaces. Sessions are practical and grounded in real organisational challenges, covering recognising and supporting neurodivergent working styles, effective communication across neurotypes, and creating environments where autistic, ADHD, and dyslexic employees can do their best work.
Training can be tailored to your sector and delivered as a single workshop or an ongoing programme.
-
For organisations looking to build or improve how they support neurodivergent staff, we offer consultancy on service and policy design, including developing neurodiversity policies, designing recruitment and onboarding processes that work for a wider range of thinking styles, and building internal pathways for staff to request and receive support.
-
If an employee already has a diagnosis and you're considering what reasonable adjustments might help, we can review the existing diagnostic information and provide practical, tailored recommendations, translating what is already known about someone's diagnosis into clear, actionable guidance: environmental adjustments, communication strategies, and role or task modifications that support the employee to thrive.
-
We support organisations to think proactively about workplace wellbeing, including burnout risk, sustainable working patterns, and team resilience, advising leadership on structural and cultural changes, and helping managers have better conversations about workload and pressure.
